In Exodus 20:8: we find the Sabbath Command “REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” God said to REMEMBER this day! Yet we see mankind willfully neglecting it – or changing it to a different day!
Jesus said: “LOVE your enemies,” yet professing Christians pretending to follow Him, HATE their enemies and even go to war against them!
Jesus said, in the sermon on the mount: “THINK NOT that I am come to destroy the law,” yet professing Christians believe He did come to destroy it!
Jesus said, in the same sermon on the mount: “SWEAR NOT,” yet professing Christians all over the world hold up their right hands AND SWEAR!
Jesus said: “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect,” yet professing Christians say, “It’s impossible to keep God’s Law so Christ kept it in our stead, then abolished it!”
Jesus commands “DO!” – and His professed followers DON’T!
Jesus commands “DON’T!” – and His professed followers DO!
Jesus commanded: “REMEMBER the Sabbath day!” – so His professed followers choose to FORGET it!
Take note also to the rest of that same sentence – “to KEEP it HOLY.” The word “keep” means to preserve in the same condition, and the only week day that God ever made “holy” is His Sabbath. It is impossible to keep any other week day Holy – because God never made them holy, and man has no authority to make anything holy. These are indisputable FACTS that will remain in existence to God’s Judgment Day!
Now take note of Exodus 20:9-10: “Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work….”
Not any seventh day! Not one day in seven – Christ said “the seventh day!”
We find in Matthew 28:1: – after the crucifixion and resurrection – after whatever was “nailed to the cross” had been nailed – we see it is the seventh day of the week – the day prior to the first day of the week!
Also, Jesus did not say, “the Sabbath of the Jews. He said quite clearly, the Sabbath of THE LORD THY GOD!” So if it is the LORD’S Sabbath – the Sabbath OF THE LORD – then the Sabbath is most certainly, “the LORD’S DAY” and should be REMEMBERED and KEPT according to His command by all who profess to being one of His followers!
